The year is 2050, in a near future dystopia America. In this America, women are forced to have their eggs removed and harvested once they have their first menstrual period. In order to have children, you must apply to the government to be gifted with one of your eggs. Falon and Lynx, after years of applying, have failed their last and final procreation interview.
There will be a talkback session immediately following the show.

The Magic Fire is an enchanting play by Argentinean playwright Lillian Groag. Set in Buenos Aires, it explores the connections between memory, history, and art through the eyes of a child. By turns funny, loving, and politically alarming, The Magic Fire welcomes you into the lively home of a family of immigrants who anchor themselves in place and time with their love of opera. Since its debut at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in 1997, The Magic Fire has been produced only a handful of times. Theatre@First is proud to bring this magical work to New England for the first time!
Auditions: August 28–29, 2017
Performances: November 10–18, 2017
