Additional Information
The Playwright: William Gibson (1914-2008) is best known for his play The Miracle Worker, winner of the 1960 Tony Award for Best Play. Born in the Bronx, he attended City College, and published numerous plays and novels. Golda's Balcony, an adaptation of his earlier, larger-scale play about the life of Golda Meir, became the longest running one-woman play in Broadway history in 2005.
The Director: Andrea Humez has previously directed Arms and the Man, The Rimers of Eldritch, and two 10-minute plays for Theatre@First. Other directing credits include Arcadia, Hapgood, The Lion in Winter and Spike Heels with The Occasional Players. Andrea has been seen on stage with Theatre@First as Oscar in A Language of Their Own and as Margaret Fuller in The Margaret Ghost. She is still searching for the one true play with many good roles for women — recommendations welcome!
