Dr. Dysart, a talented psychiatrist, is brought in to evaluate and treat Alan Strang, a disturbed young man who blinded six horses. Uncovering the events that triggered this seemingly senseless act involves key players in Alan's life. Dysart's own awe as she learns Alan's secrets brings her to confront her own demons, as well as Alan's.
