Lucile

by Monique Giroux

directed by Paul Dixon

Lucile recounts the remarkable life of Lucy Christiana Lady Duff Gordon, prominent fashion designer and survivor of the RMS Titanic. After surviving the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, Lucy and her husband became embroiled in the Duff Gordon Scandal. Accused of rowing away from the drowning in a half-empty emergency boat and of bribing crew members for preferential treatment, the Duff Gordons appeared before the British Inquiry to give evidence. Although they were later cleared of all charges, the trial destroyed their reputation and their marriage.
