Intro to Improv

Get ready to think on your feet, because our next Skill Sharpening workshop is fast approaching! Designed for a novice but still fun for an expert, our Intro to Improv workshop will cover the basics of the art of theatrical improvisation. Enjoy unpredictable games, spontaneous scenes, and plenty of laughs too. Seasoned improv actor, Bill DeRusha, will offer tips and tricks that will make you say yes, and... to your next improv scene.

About the Instructor: Bill DeRusha is a graduate of the Improv Asylum training center and has been performing and teaching improv around the city for the past decade. With hundreds of performances to his name, he has been seen on the Improv Asylum stage as a member of their House Teams, the Improv Boston stage in their long-running Studio 40 showcase, and the sticky floors of uncountable dive bars as a member of many independent troupes and projects. As a teacher he directed the improv troupe at his alma mater for 3 years and currently brings the power of improv comedy into the office through corporate training programs.

After years of being an enthusiastic Theatre@First audience member, he performed in the first Giving@First 24 hour festival in 2017. Bill is excited to work with the amazing folks at Theatre@First again to bring people together for a night of improv comedy fun.
